Hypnotherapy uses the client's natural relaxation/trance
states to assist in uncovering the thoughts and memory patterns
linked to the unwanted behaviour. Hypnotherapy employs techniques
to modify these patterns so the client is able to take control of
their behaviour. This can only be achieved with the consent of the
client. Therefore to be effective the client must genuinely wish
to resolve the problem and be willing to co-operate fully with the
therapist.
Hypnotherapy is an interactive therapy where the
therapist skilfully guides the client to find their own internal
resources and solutions, which are acceptable to the unconscious
mind. These solutions are skilfully tested for ongoing and permanent
acceptance.
Hypnotherapy is used very successfully in:
Fears and Phobias
such as spiders, wasps, heights, flying, lifts, closed-in spaces, etc.
Habits and Compulsions
such as smoking, overeating, nail biting, obsessions, alcohol and drug abuse.
Stress Management, Anxiety and Depression.
Pain Control and Management
such as IBS, back pains and cancer care.
Motivation and Confidence Building,
such as exam and presentation nerves.
